Source Professional Support announces management buyout and sets sights on international growth and expanded capability

Source Professional Support has completed a management buyout led by founder and CEO Peter Workman, marking the next phase of growth for the flexible legal resourcing business.

Source Professional Support, the flexible legal resourcing business providing high-quality interim lawyers for modern in-house legal teams, has completed a management buyout led by founder and CEO Peter Workman.

The transaction marks the completion of the transition of ownership from co-founders Tim Summers and Justyn McIlhinney, who established Source alongside Peter in 2024. Summers and McIlhinney – also the founders of innovative new model law firm Temple Bright – supported Source’s early development before stepping back from day-to-day involvement. Both remain strongly supportive of the business and its future direction.

Peter Workman said:

“I’m grateful to Tim and Justyn for their involvement in establishing Source and for the guidance and support they’ve offered throughout. I’m proud of what we’ve built together and the business now has a strong platform for the growth ahead.”

Tim and Justyn commented: “We’ve enjoyed being involved in building Source and are delighted with what the business has become. We look forward to seeing where Peter takes it next and to sharing in the future success.”

Under Peter’s leadership, Source will now accelerate its next phase of growth – driven by client demand – including further expansion into key non-UK markets including the US, Europe and the Middle East, alongside building out adjacent capabilities in company secretarial support, compliance and paralegal resourcing.

Workman added:

“Our vision for Source is simple – to provide exceptional senior legal talent to modern in-house legal teams and to expand our offering internationally while strengthening the complementary services clients increasingly need. Source is ideally positioned to scale with clarity and pace.”
